David deMena’s love for storytelling began on long school-bus rides through streets of Wuhan, China. When the traffic was bad, (and it always was) he found that telling funny stories to his friends around him always cheered them up, and made the rides feel short. Having moved to China with his family at age three, he stayed there until he moved to Kentucky to study filmmaking at Asbury University.

While in college, David wrote and directed several award-winning student shorts, but also got tangled up in the world of theater and comedy. He performed in several plays and a musical, and became a writer for the campus’s popular sketch show. Upon graduating, David hopes to continue using his passion for story, heart, and humor to write and direct more films and shows in the future.
